Minsk region and Chinese Chongqing expand cooperation

Minsk Regional Executive Committee hosted the Belarus-Chongqing Investment Forum. The result was the signing of joint documents aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation Minskaya Pravda reports.

At the beginning of the forum, the Chinese side thanked all the participants for their assistance in organizing it and expanding the Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. After the welcoming words of the Chinese representatives, the floor was taken by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Yury Senko. He also thanked the organizers and all those present for their assistance in organizing and participating in the forum.

Following the Belarusian colleague, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Belarus Xie Xiaoyong took the floor. The diplomat joined the words of gratitude to the organizers of the forum and also noted the productivity of the thirty-year Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. “Holding this forum is more relevant today than ever, it will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations. With the active assistance of the heads of our states, the Chinese-Belarusian cooperation is continuously deepening. Chongqing and the Minsk region are actively implementing bilateral agreements and strengthening international cooperation,” Xie Xiaoyong said in his address. 

In his speech, Deputy Chairman of Minsk Regional Executive Committee Denis Kurlenko, on behalf of Minsk region and all its residents, expressed congratulations to the Chinese side on the occasion of the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China. 

— I am convinced that the key decisions made during the 20th Congress will help strengthen China's global positions and effectively promote initiatives for global development and security. China and Belarus are bound by a long-standing strong friendship, our countries provide confident support to each other in matters related to the interests of both states. I am pleased to note that the Minsk region, which I represent, has been twinned with the city of Chongqing for five years now. We sincerely value warm relations with the city of Chongqing and are making every effort to develop cooperation between our regions,” Denis Kurlenko emphasized.

Also, the investment forum Belarus-Chuprin was attended by Deputy Chairman of the National People's Congress of Chongqing Mo Gongming, Chairman of the Kopyl District Executive Committee of the Minsk Region Sergei Pilischik, Deputy Chairman of the Minsk District Executive Committee of the Minsk Region Tatyana Ivanova and others.

The main result of the forum was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the administration of the Chinese-Belarusian industrial park "Great Stone", the administration of the zone for the development of new high technologies "Science City of Western China" and the Industrial Park Development Company. Also, a protocol was signed on the implementation of agreements between the Kopyl district of the Minsk region and the Wanzhou district of Chongqing and between the Minsk district of the Minsk region and the Yubei district of Chongqing.
