Dzerzhinsky poultry plant first in CIS to get international quality certificate DZERZHINSK, 17 May (BelTA) –The Dzerzhinsky poultry plant was awarded an international quality certificate that allows it to promote products to the European market, director general of the plant Leonid Zayats told reporters. In 2012, the award to Dzerzhinsky was handed over by the Swiss Institute for Quality Standards as advised by the European Business Assembly.
MINSK, 15 May (BelTA) – The Minsk oblast council of deputies and the Lugansk oblast council signed an agreement of cooperation. The document was inked by Chairwoman of the Minsk oblast council of deputies Svetlana Gerasimovich and Chairman of the Lugansk oblast council Valery Golenko, BelTA has learnt. According to Svetlana Gerasimovich, the document outlines the main cooperation areas for regional MPs and will promote experience sharing, trade growth and development of cultural and social ties.
MINSK, 9 May (BelTA) – A solemn procession to celebrate Victory Day has set off from Oktyabrskaya Square in Minsk. Partaking in the parade are nearly 10,000 people who will walk down Independence Avenue to Victory Square, BelTA has learnt. The procession is led by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko accompanied by Soviet Union and Socialist Labor heroes, veterans of the Armed Forces, soldiers-internationalists, the heroes of Belarus and Great Patriotic War participants.
MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Minsk Office of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is to organize a business visit of chiefs and leading specialists from Minsk enterprises to Kazakhstan to participate in Almaty business forum-2012 due to take place 29-31 May, BelTA learnt from BCCI administration. The Belarusian businessmen will present investment, innovation and economic capabilities of Minsk enterprises, participate in a business match-making session with Kazakh businessmen and attend plenary meetings and roundtables concerning the issues of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space.
MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast and Iran’s East Azerbaijan Province have signed a memorandum of understanding. The document was inked by Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura and East Azerbaijan Province Governor Ahmad Alireza Beigi, BelTA has learnt. The parties have plans to expand cooperation in economy, trade, science and culture. Minsk Oblast and East Azerbaijan have many common interests.
MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – A modern-day international passenger transit terminal will be built at the National Airport Minsk by 2014, BelTA learnt from director of the airport Dmitry Melikyan. “The National Airport Minsk is going to transform by the IIHF World Championship which will be held in Belarus in 2014. The airport will serve more passengers and improve the quality of the service,” Dmitry Melikyan said.
MINSK, 26 March (BelTA) – All problems in Minsk and the oblast should be resolved, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko as he received reports from Minsk Oblast governor Boris Batura and Minsk mayor Nikolai Ladutko on 26 March. The press service of the Belarusian leader quoted Alexander Lukashenko as saying the main purpose of the meeting was to discuss problems in regions of the country.
MINSK, 16 March (BelTA) – Minsk Oblast is interested in promoting organic farm production, Minsk Oblast Governor Boris Batura said as he met with representatives of the international public association of stockbreeders “East-West”, foreign partners of the project, Organic Agriculture in the Baltic Sea Region, on 15 March, BelTA has learnt. The region boasts its most picturesque Naroch Krai and limits the use of chemicals on almost half of its farming land due to this nature conservancy zone.
MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent a message of greetings to the participants of the Golden Puck Nationwide Ice Hockey Youth Tournament, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service. Alexander Lukashenko noted that this is one of the most popular and representative youth tournaments in the country. Many outstanding ice hockey players have taken start in their sports career from these competitions.
MINSK, 12 January (BelTA) – Maksim Bogdanovich’s poems were recited in six languages in a soiree at the Minsk House of Friendship on 11 January. The event celebrated the presentation of a collection of the poet’s works published to mark his 120th birthday, BelTA has learnt. According to Chairwoman of the Presidium of the Belarusian Society of Friendship and Cultural Links with Foreign Countries Nina Ivanova, three poems of this outstanding poet were published in 10 languages in this unique collection consisting of three books.
